PHASE Worldwide’s journey began around a kitchen table in Rotherham by a group of friends with a love for Nepal. Now, with funding from the Burdett Trust, PHASE Worldwide’s latest project is increasing the skill and capacity of Nepalese health workers to provide safe and woman-centred pregnancy and delivery care.
From general to mental health nurse, then PhD student to chairperson and editor-in-chief to Fulbright Scholar, Ann Gallagher’s journey to a career in applied/practical ethics – philosophical and empirical – has been unconventional. Currently she is a Professor of Ethics and Care who is now working on ‘Generation Z’s Views of Care and Care Careers’ with funding from the Burdett Trust for Nursing.
Hope for Tomorrow is a dedicated charity, bringing cancer care closer to patients’ homes via Mobile Cancer Care Units. Nurses on board provided 17,000+ treatments in 2019 across 34 communities.

The Junius S. Morgan Benevolent Fund makes charitable grants to members of the nursing profession who are in hardship for a variety of reasons. The Burdett Trust is pleased to support this project in addition to providing grants to nurses, midwives, health visitors and allied health professionals for projects that will improve patient care.
